Bob Raina’s Burning Birches is a concept that was developed to explore and experience all of the amazing things in life through art. Bob’s passion for music, cinema, comics and the outdoors is evident throughout his work, linking his many interests and hobbies into his own personal style. During his studies at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Bob was able to learn advanced drawing techniques, focusing on gesture, value, and design. He is fluent in a variety of media, specializing in digital, pyrography, ink and watercolor. Logo design, original character development and fine art are some of his specialties. Shortly after graduating from college, his comic work was recognized and published in the New York Times best selling book series Chicken Soup for the Soul. Along with his published works he went on to create and co-develop a children’s book app There’s a Monster in my Tummy which went on to become featured on Apple’s “What’s Hot” iTunes storefront. Currently Bob has a published comic strip NUTZ, featured in Manchester, Connecticut’s the Journal Inquirer and has just finished illustrating his first comic book Blood of The Twelve. He now sets his sights onto a larger audience with hopes of publishing and syndication. Whether it be a wood burn project, logo design, or a basic illustration, Bob is always available to discuss your ideas.
